Day 10, 11 & 12: Well today is actually the end of the 11th day but we will include day 12 as well since it will just be driving from here (Lincoln, NE) to home. Our trip from Utah to Cheyenne, Wyoming was uneventful. The place we stayed at had some pit bbq that we had for dinner....it was yummy! Had bbq pork, beef, beans, cole slaw and rolly corn (aka corn on the cob)! After Utah we headed for Lincoln, NE. Mama took the big kids swimming while Jack and Daddy played in the camper and then we finally got to have a campfire and roast marshmallows and make smores. Most of our camsites to this point have not allowed fires except for Kansas.....and as we have said before we are not going back there! ha ha We are all pretty ready to come home, we have had a ton of fun but getting home to our own beds and a little more roaming space will be nice too. Tomorrow we will just be driving home and then have the daunting task of unloading...that is one thing we are not looking forward to but it has to be done as the motor home needs to be back on Friday morning. Thanks to all of you who kept up with our vacation and we will see you all soon!!

Lagoon Amusement Park: Fun, Food, and lost Phones!

Day 8 & 9: We left Vegas on Sunday morning and stopped for a Father's day buffet at the Palace Station. Then on the road we were on our way to Salt Lake City! We saw a car along the way with tons of stuff piled on the top..look at the picture..it was sooo funny! Not to much else exciting on Sunday, just got to the campground ate and went to bed. We have to be prepared for our big day at the amusement park tomorrow. Monday am we got up and ready and were at the park when it opened at 11 am. We rode rides and ate lots of good things! Jordan became very brave and rode ALL the big rollercoasters. He told us that "he has to get used to these extreme things sometime." Jack loved the boat ride he rode it many times. Auna was the only one to brave the flip upside down while spinning in circles and having water spray at you ride...at night when it was cold of course!! While Jack took his nap Mama, Cody, Auna, and Jordan went to the waterpark. The water was freezing!!!!!! But it was fun anyway. To the lost phones part... Mama realized at about 1pm that her phone was no longer in her pocket..Daddy called it and the ride operator from the 1st rollercoaster we rode answered and said he had it...lucky. Then after riding the train ride...a nice slow family train around the park....Auna discovered hers was missing. Cody and her rode the train again and they saw it next to the tracks by the tiger cage. The train driver was nice enough to stop the train and get it for her...lucky again! We all had a good time and were plenty tired when we left at 10pm when it closed for the day! Tomorrow we leave for our journey home. We will stop 2 more nights once in Cheyenne, Wyoming and then again in Lincoln, Nebraska!

Day 7: Today we spent the day with papa. We went swimming and golfing at the rv park we are staying at. Papa decided to ride the bus to visit us and it took him 4 hours to get here!! We cooked steaks and chicken on the grill for dinner then decided to just take Papa home so he didn't have to ride the bus all the way home. Kai came out to visit for a bit we dropped Papa off and brought out a box of toys for us to play with for the rest of the way! We saw all the pretty lights of Las Vegas at night. It was pretty hot here today but also windy so that helped some. Tomorrow we are off to Utah to stay at the Lagoon Campground and Amusement Park!

Vegas we have arrived!

Day 6: We had an uneventful day in the motorhome, only 4.5 hours today. The biggest excitement was at the security checkpoint over Hoover Dam when an officer had to "inspect" our motorhome inside and out. Checked in at the park and Daddy, Auna, Cody and Jordan went swimming while Jack took a nap and Mama got things set up a bit. We ate dinner and headed out for the strip. Apparently in Nevada there is a state law that states only 5 people can ride in a cab at a time........soooo we had to take 2. That was a little price shocker $40 each way..and $80 round trip ride about 2 miles. Anyway...we went to Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, NY NY, and MGM. The kids played all kinds of games at the game floor at Excalibur. Daddy, Auna and Jordan went on the 4-D spongebob ride. Jack really got into all the ball throwing games, he thought it was quite fun and won himself a lobster and pink pig. Auna won some animals as well, and Jordan won some stuffed lips. Cody played mostly games that payed in tickets and ended up with a pencil and some sweet tarts....exciting!! Didn't get home until midnight and went to bed. Tomorrow Papa from Las Vegas is coming to visit and we are all really excited!!

We Finally Got Internet!!

Well we are now on the 5th day of our vacation and we have just got internet access so we have a lot to report!

Day 1: We were in the motor home for 10 hours or so and made it to El Dorado State Park and got set up, since we left a day early we decided to stay two nights. We pretty much ate dinner and went to bed because it started raining.

Day 2: We got up and explored the park a little then went swimming. We decided to have steaks and potatoes for dinner that night and had to hurry and run them in quick as they were just getting done as storms were rolling in. Not long after we finished eating the sirens began going off, over and over, finally Mama ran across the road and asked another camper what was going on. He said there was a tornado on the ground not far away on the lake that we had looked at earlier. We ran in the pouring rain to the bath house. Jack had no clothes on and was wrapped in a towel........it was great. Apparently it touched down about 2 miles from where we were but missed us...yea!!!! It did storm for the rest of the night but no more sirens thank goodness. Thanks to Marv, Lisa and John for there help with checking the weather and calling us with updates!

Day 3: Good Bye Kansas......for good. I don't think we will be visiting again any time soon! Today was spent on the road and we ended up in Santa Rosa, New Mexico. Pretty nice place, no big events. Just pretty much showered and went to sleep.....on our way to the Grand Canyon tomorrow!

Day 4: We spent about 8 hours in the motorhome today. Everything was going along smoothly until the wonderful sand storm we drove through in the Arizona desert. Daddy drove us through though and we all made it just fine. Arrived at our campground and the kids explored and we ate (of course). Tomorrow we are off to the Canyon.

Day 5: All got up and got ready for our trip to the Grand Canyon. We got on the shuttle and Jack wanted to run all over. It was great! We explored for a few hours and had a snack. It was beautiful! Definately worth the trip! Lots of weird bugs too.........there are giant black bees the size of birds...ewww! Jack was quite tired so we came back about 2 and that brings us to about now. We are going to try and get the pics loaded now so wish us luck. We will have internet for the rest of our stops so will try and update daily from now on. Tomorrow we are off to Vegas baby!! We may stop at the Hoover dam if there is a place for us to park this giant thing we are driving! Only about 4 hours to vegas so tomorrow should be all good! Talk to you all soon!!
Love,
Matt, Carrie, Cody, Auna, Jordan, and Jack
p.s. the pics are in reverse order I guess, so the ones on the top are from the grand canyon and then work there way down to when we left. Sorry Im not very savvy when it comes to this stuff!
